Description

This creamy mango, strawberry, and banana smoothie is fruity, refreshing, and naturally sweet with no yogurt needed.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen diced mango
  • 1 cup frozen sliced strawberries
  • 1 ripe banana, peeled
  • 1/2 to 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, optional

Instructions

  1. Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth.  Start with the juice of a ½ lime (about 1  1/2 tablespoons) and add more if needed.
  2. Add more water if it's too thick.

Notes

I use the juice of 1/2 a lime if I’m not using spinach, or the juice of 1 whole lime (about 3 tablespoons) if I do add spinach.  Always adjust to your preferences, especially if the lime is large and extra juicy.

Fresh or frozen fruit both work in this smoothie. If you use all fresh fruit, the smoothie will be thinner and not as chilled, so you may not need as much water. Frozen fruit makes the smoothie colder and thicker.

If you substitute the spinach for kale and your blender has trouble with kale, try blending the liquid with just the kale first, then add the fruit and lime juice.
