The peach pineapple smoothie combines frozen pineapple, frozen peaches, a navel orange, and fresh spinach for a refreshing and easy smoothie.

The creamy dairy-free smoothie takes about 10 minutes to prepare using simple ingredients. No banana or yogurt is needed to make the beverage, and it's packed with fruit and veggies. The smoothie has a sweet tropical flavor from the frozen pineapple, creamy from the frozen peaches, sweet and tangy from the navel orange, and a serving of greens from the spinach.

Ingredient notes and substitutions
The peach pineapple smoothie recipe is simple, but please see the recipe card below for the exact measurements.
Frozen pineapple - Pineapple has a bright flavor that works well for covering up the taste of spinach and kale. I opt for frozen pineapple because it makes prep work much easier. For more smoothies with frozen pineapple, try a cucumber pineapple smoothie, tropical island green smoothie, or pineapple slush for a refreshing beverage that’s not a smoothie.
Frozen peaches - Fresh ripe peaches are delicious, but they’re not always in season. So we opt for frozen peaches that can be found year-round. Frozen peaches don’t need to be peeled, the pit is removed, they’re already sliced, and they’re ripe. Frozen peaches help make this smoothie creamy without the need for a banana. If you use fresh peaches, it might not be as creamy, and you may need to reduce the water in the recipe. If it’s peach season, by all means, go for those fresh, ripe, juicy peaches!
Navel orange - Add a peeled navel orange to the green smoothie for a sweet and tangy flavor. I opt for navel oranges because they’re easy to find at my local grocery stores, but feel free to use any type of large juicy orange.
Spinach - For a serving of greens, use about two cups of fresh spinach or kale that has been removed from the stems. If you leave out the spinach, the smoothie may have a slushy texture since it would be mostly frozen fruit. For leftover spinach, try it in a raspberry blueberry smoothie. If you’re new to adding greens to your smoothies, start with fresh spinach; it’s milder than kale. Want to add new greens to your smoothie? Try a smoothie with arugula, and pair the peppery greens with pineapple and oranges.
Tips
- If you use all fresh fruit instead of frozen, you may want to reduce the amount of water. The smoothie also won’t be chilled if you use all fresh fruit.
- To make the smoothie sweeter, try adding a pitted date.
- If you leave out the spinach, the smoothie becomes slushy since it would be mostly frozen fruit.
- If you substitute spinach with kale and your blender has trouble blending it, you can blend it with water and the orange first. Then add the frozen pineapple and the frozen peaches. You can also try letting the frozen fruit partially thaw to be easier on the blender.
Variations
Enjoy the pineapple and peach smoothie as is or try a different variation.
- Use a kiwi, lemon juice, or lime juice instead of an orange. Add to taste.
- Use frozen mango instead of peaches.
- For a little kick, add freshly grated ginger.
- Make the recipe into a smoothie bowl by using less water. Then top it with oil-free granola, sliced banana, shredded coconut, fresh or thawed pineapple chunks, fresh sliced peaches, fresh or thawed mango, or raspberries.
How to make a pineapple peach smoothie
Peel the orange, be sure to remove most of the white pith. Then add it whole to a high-speed blender along with the rest of the ingredients. Blend until smooth.
Serving suggestions
Smoothies tend to be delicious but not very filling. I use them as an afternoon snack and not as a main meal. To enjoy this smoothie as a meal, try pairing it with strawberry toast, avocado tomato toast, vegan avocado toast, vegan toast, dairy-free overnight oats, or plant-based granola.
Storage
The pineapple and peach smoothie is best if served immediately, but store the leftover smoothie in an airtight container with a lid in the refrigerator and consume it within 24 hours. If there is any liquid separation, stir it back in. Leftovers can be frozen in ice cube trays and used later to add flavor to another smoothie.
Frequently asked questions
If you’re new to adding greens to your smoothie and not sure if you’d like it, start with spinach. It has a milder taste than kale, and it’s easier to cover up with fruit. You can also try adding half the amount of greens, then over time, slowly increase the amount as you get used to them.
The smoothie is best the day it's made, but if needed, it can be made a day in advance. If there is any liquid separation, give it a good stir before consuming.
If the smoothie is too thick, add more water for a thinner smoothie.
If the smoothie is too thin, add more frozen fruit, banana, whole chia seeds, or more fresh spinach until the smoothie is thick enough.
